hello friends 👋,
I spent most of this week maxing out Fable 5 to build Content OS app.
Partly because it is insanely good.
Partly because Anthropic is about to take it away again.
And this time, OpenAI already has a replacement waiting.
📍 TL;DR
GPT‑5.6 is out.
It beats Fable 5 on several important agent and coding benchmarks while costing significantly less.
Fable 5 leaves Claude subscriptions tonight.
Anthropic’s temporary 50% increase in weekly usage is also scheduled to end tomorrow.
Seedream 5.0 Pro is very close to ChatGPT Image 2
China is catching up to US and from my early testing, while costing as little as $0.045 per image, it produces insane results (examples below)
Meta launched Muse Image and previewed Muse Video
Finally, something tangible from its new superintelligence team.
GPT‑5.6 just made Claude hard to justify

chat gpt models
GPT‑5.6 launched this week with three models:
Sol: $5 input / $30 output per million tokens
Terra: $2.50 / $15
Luna: $1 / $6
Fable 5 costs $10 input / $50 output.
So even the best flagship GPT‑5.6 Sol is half the input price and 40% cheaper on output.
And the benchmarks (for nerds) are not exactly helping Anthropic:
Benchmark | GPT‑5.6 Sol | Fable 5 |
|---|---|---|
Agents’ Last Exam | 52.7% | 40.5% |
Terminal‑Bench 2.1 | 88.8% | 83.1% |
Artificial Analysis Index | 58.9 | 59.9 |
SWE‑Bench Pro | 64.6% | 80% |
So no, GPT‑5.6 does not beat Fable everywhere.
Fable is still wayy better at difficult software engineering. But GPT‑5.6 wins several long-running professional and terminal tasks while being much cheaper.
At 11:59PM Pacific tonight, Fable 5 is scheduled to leave normal Claude subscription usage and move behind usage credits. Anthropic already extended the deadline once, so I’m predicting they extend it again.
They almost have to.
Because if Fable disappears and the temporary 50% weekly usage boost disappears tomorrow too, every Claude user is going to feel the downgrade immediately.
I’m already on the fence.
If Anthropic does not extend Fable, increase the limits, or drop something new, I cannot justify paying for weaker subscription models and then buying API credits for its best one when GPT‑5.6 is sitting right there.
Seedream 5.0 Pro is surprisingly good
I also tested ByteDance’s new Seedream 5.0 Pro image model this week.

side-by-side comparison of the models
My first impression is that it comes surprisingly close to ChatGPT Image 2.
It is especially good at marketing images, product visuals, reference-based editing, and following complicated creative directions.
The pricing is the interesting part:
Seedream 5.0 Pro: $0.045 at up to 2.36M pixels
Seedream 5.0 Pro higher tier: $0.09
GPT Image 2 medium: approximately $0.053
GPT Image 2 high: approximately $0.211
The comparison is not perfectly apples-to-apples because GPT Image 2 uses token-based pricing and the resolutions differ. But for high-quality production work, Seedream can be roughly 79% cheaper.
ChatGPT Image 2 is still my quality benchmark.
Seedream is now close enough that the price difference actually matters.
Meta finally shipped something
Meta also launched Muse Image and previewed Muse Video, the first media models from Meta Superintelligence Labs.
Muse Image is already available in Meta AI and ranks No. 2 on Arena for text-to-image and image editing.

image rankings
Muse Video is not publicly available yet, but Meta says it currently ranks No. 3 for text-to-video.
Neither model looks like a category-destroying breakthrough.
I’m just happy to see an actual product after months of Meta hiring expensive talent and putting Alexandr Wang in charge of its superintelligence push.
🛠 What I’m building

preview of content OS
This week I have been using every remaining drop of Fable 5 to build Content OS app (I’m so tired of having things in my browser lol).
It connects to your social accounts, automatically transcribes all your videos and learns your voice from your existing content, and tracks what is performing.
It also monitors competitors and catches breakout posts before you spend three hours scrolling for ideas.
Then it turns those signals into:
→ daily content briefs
→ new angles based on proven posts
→ remixed reels for your niche
→ carousels and written posts
→ a pipeline showing what to create next
My goal with this is to help me grow my brand while spending less time doing so.
I’m building this for myself first and actually prove that I use it and it works
More on this very soon.
If you want to test Content OS (free) when it is ready, reply “CONTENT OS” to this email.
That’s it for this week.
See you next Sunday,
